Why come to Herefordshire and the Wye Valley?
From the Wye Valley, the gateway to Herefordshire all the way to the Welsh
Marches, this is a county of outstanding natural beauty, and nature at its
glorious best.

A landscape of rolling hillsides and a patchwork of fields, glorious flowering hedgerows and
majestic ancient oak trees. Steeped in history Herefordshire has much to see and do. It is
very heart of British agriculture and it has, of course, the finest cider makers in the world.   
All over the county you will find small traders and other businesses proudly selling locally
grown and organic produce.

Hereford City, with its awe inspiring cathedral, is a classic country
market city on the banks of the world famous River Wye.

Hereford Cathedral is famous for being the home of the unique Mappa
Mundi, a Medieval treasure from the 13th Century.  Herefordshire has a
wealth of beautiful churches, great houses with beautiful gardens,
castles and sites of historical interest.

Down almost every country lane is a traditional Herefordshire black and
white village, most with a village pub offering traditional ales and ciders
with fine wines and spirits and quality locally produced food.  

Throughout the county there is a wealth of excellent holiday
accommodation, including friendly hotels and B&Bs and gorgeous
self-catering cottages, all in the midst of glorious countryside
All the classic country pursuits and many other activities are available in
the county; i.e., shooting, fishing, hand gliding, horse-riding, walking,
canoeing, bird watching.  

Maybe you would enjoy watching a ploughing contest or hedge laying
match, visiting a steam rally, tug of war or a sheep shearing contest.  All
of these can be found throughout the year
